Beckman Institute faculty member Lillian Hoddeson, the Thomas M. Siebel Chair in the History of Science at the University of Illinois, has written a feature story about famed Illinois professor and two-time Nobel Prize winner John Bardeen for Illinois Alumni magazine. Hoddeson, who has written a biography of Bardeen, profiles the theoretical mind behind the transistor in the May/June issue.
