We are pleased to announce that Professor Milton Feng has been appointed a Center for Advanced Study (CAS) Associate for the 2009-10 academic year.
CAS Associates are tenured University of Illinois faculty whose proposals are selected in an annual competition. These appointments grant one semester of teaching release time in order to pursue an individual scholarly or creative project. With the Professors and Fellows, they form the core of the Center for Advanced Study Community. Associates also participate in a yearly roundtable discussion of research interests and are invited to offer a future CAS presentation.
Dr. Feng will take advantage of this appointment to conduct research on the theory and technology realization of the transistor laser.
